Ruby Victoria Letterpress is a small home run printmaking studio in Blackmans Bay Tasmania, owned and run by artist/printer Narelle Badalassi. I specializes in handcarved lino block printing and letterpress stationery,I print only on recycled papers. Featured in 2 international publications The little Book of Letterpress and Reinventing Letterpress by Charlotte Rivers and the Australian publication Handmade living from the group that bring you handmade Canberra market and shop Original prints are first drawn then transferred to the lino to be then pain stakingly carved out then printed either using a hand burnisher or on an antique tabletop letterpress machine from the 1950’s one impression at a time. Letterpress handset type is used for all the lettering on my work, this is a very time consuming activity as all the letters are all individual pieces of type that have to be first set and spaced out before locking into a form to then printed one sheet of paper at a time using the letterpress machine.
