The Phoebe lamp is unlike any lamp you have seen before! Its unique design allows you to effortlessly change the appearance of the lamp. The idea being that you can tailor its look to suit the user or setting. The decorative part of the lamp, typically a piece of paper or fabric, is independent of the lamp itself. When purchased the lamp comes with an insert, however when the appropriate time comes to change the look of the lamp, there is a world of possibilities awaiting. Almost anything you can imagine will work in a Phoebe lamp, from fabrics and wall papers to wrapping paper, photos even original artworks.
Phoebe is a product that is designed to have a long life. It is hoped that a Phoebe lamp will move through life with its owner or be passed on and reinvented time and time again because with every new insert a new lamp is born.
To ensure this longevity the lamp is made from highly durable plastic. This plastic also holds and protects the decorative insert. The plastic is Australian made, non-toxic, acid free, and recyclable.
The light fitting is a standard size bayonet fitting. We recommend the use of fluorescent energy efficient bulbs! These are readily available in supermarkets and hardware stores within Australia. They cost a little more but use a lot less energy and last a lot longer than a standard incandescent bulb. The wall plug is a standard Australian plug and if used in other countries an adaptor will be needed.
Phoebe is a ‘flat pack’ product and comes disassembled in post tube packaging, therefore making it very easy to move around or send as a gift. Its components are also easily disassembled for recycling, reuse or repurposing at the end of the products life.
