About
I am flo – contemporary jewellery was born in 2008. With a focus on short production runs this small business is all about made crafted pieces. I design / make all my jewellery. I work in my home based studio/workshop in Otford, NSW. My jewellery work is my own space in time where I have no limitations and where I can express myself through precious little constructions.
Behind the scenes
I love working with metal, I enjoy the transition from a hard sheet of material to a soft designed shape. I create a range of products; necklaces, rings, earrings and brooches. The pieces are unique, designed as complementary ranges or bespoke to order. Every pieces goes through many process before it’s finished. The materials I use matter. That is why I work with recycled Australian sterling silver. I combine silver with other materials including found objects, recycled plastic, gem stones, and lacquers to give my pieces colour and personality. Every piece carries the signs of handmade work and dedication. Pieces do vary slightly. Those who are interested in my pieces have an appreciation for handmade opposed to commercial and mass produced objects.
