About

The motivation behind my work is to produce beautiful objects for people to use in their everyday life. I like to think that they will be loved and used regularily,handled many times and treasured. I am saddend by the loss of the Artisans as of the old world,the skills handed down from Masters to Apprentices...the influx of cheap imported disposable ceramics. Investing in our Artists and supporting them by purchasing their work is a small step towards maintaining & nurturing these skills which could be lost otherwise.

Behind the scenes

I am the sole artisan making ceramics here ,just me, in my studio at the base of the Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne,Australia. I am very particular about what traffic goes through my kilns ! They are always loaded to capacity(like a dishwasher!)and only pieces that i am content with are fired. I recycle my clay as much as possible,and limit my water use by having basins of water not a running tap! My work is not mass produced,and designs change rapidly.Sometimes the work is only 'one of a kind',sometimes a few more.
